See America and Asia together
The Infrastructure map now wraps across the international date line, with a Pacific cables button that frames Asia and America together. Eleven selected endpoint links cover five documented cable systems: FASTER, Unity, JUPITER, Pacific Light Cable Network and Pacific Crossing PC-1.
Purple dashed lines show schematic same-system connections between approximate named landing localities. They are not surveyed seabed routes or precise landing-station coordinates. Source details retain service/licensing history, coverage limits and original references; PLCN's cancelled US–Hong Kong connection is excluded.
Underwater power and pipelines
New reference layers include 3,260 OpenStreetMap underwater power segments and 15,332 underwater pipeline segments from October 15 source snapshots. Source-tagged construction and retired segments are hidden by default, leaving 3,243 power and 6,679 pipeline segments in the default projection. Counts describe mapped segments, not unique operational systems.
Gold and coral lines preserve mapped source geometry, including inland-water crossings. Shared-node component metadata uses original OSM node identifiers rather than snapping nearby lines together. It does not establish live electricity or fluid flow. Existing blue fibre geometry remains available.
Inspect the connection evidence
Undersea networks controls provide source search, individual layer filters, a historical-segment toggle, Pacific/world views and source popups. New route geometry is date-line safe; reference sources are cached across panning, and live additions hide during replay or incomplete access verification. Source snapshots, attribution, methods and downloadable geometry are published alongside the map.
