A dedicated Demographics view
Countries now has a Demographics portion with topic panels, reporting-year selection, source definitions, comparisons and a provenance-preserving export. All 250 existing country, economy and territory profiles are selectable, with missing observations shown explicitly.
The statistical projection contains 91 measures, including 49 additions to the previous country dataset. New measures include detailed five-year age bands by sex, male and female population counts, survival and adult mortality, educational attainment and youth not in education, employment or training.
Read age structure without mixing years
Population pyramids use 17 age bands for each source sex, from ages 0–4 through 80 and above. Each chart requires a complete common-year set. Source sex-specific percentages are converted to shares of the total population using the same year's sex shares, with the formula and original inputs available.
Initial qualification produced complete pyramids for 216 jurisdictions. Incomplete inputs withhold the chart instead of inventing missing ages or mixing different reporting years. Mobile layouts include a readable paired-bar view and an age-band table.
Religion, language and social context
Dedicated panels organize source-reported religious affiliation, languages and ethnic origins from the existing pinned country archive. Original wording, estimates, reporting years, overlap qualifications and source links are retained. Initial qualification found religious-affiliation references for 233 jurisdictions.
These are archived CIA World Factbook references, not newly measured present-day beliefs. Religious affiliation is distinct from belief intensity or practice; language and ancestry answers can overlap and are not normalized to 100%. Separate source territories remain separate.
Definitions, dates and access
World Bank statistics are checked daily, retaining the latest six non-empty observations per country and indicator. Values can have different reporting years and may include modeled estimates. Historical figures, source gaps, percentages with different denominators and gross enrollment rates retain their definitions.
The new demographic dataset is also discoverable through Watchtower MCP, bringing the reviewed catalogue to 201 datasets. Country, coverage, series, comparison and source views preserve dates and snapshot pagination. Existing country-risk and financial scores are unchanged.
