Worldwide markets, with explicit source meaning
Presentation and reference contract: world-market-presentation-v1.0.0 / market-reference-v1. Published October 15, 2026.
What the views cover
Market Overview, the lower Markets tabs and Global Markets share instrument identities, flags, native units, original observation dates, regional filters and evidence exports. The benchmark registry contains 56 indices across 44 countries or areas, spanning seven regional groups. Availability is measured separately from this registry. It does not imply every world exchange or real-time market coverage.
Global equity movers are a filtered TradingView scan, not every listed company. Crypto is the source-defined CoinGecko universe. Commodity futures are contract references, not world retail prices. Global sovereign yields retain the countries and clock limitations of the existing source.
Units and comparisons
| Instrument | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Indices | Index points. Benchmark variants, price/total-return conventions and local trading sessions remain source-specific. |
| FX | Quote currency per one base currency. USD/foreign reciprocal percentage returns use (1/(1+r/100)−1)×100. |
| Commodities | Native futures quotation: dollars or US cents per barrel, gallon, MMBtu, troy ounce, pound, bushel, metric tonne or 1,000 board feet, as identified. |
| Yields | Percent yield, distinct from central-bank policy rates. One percentage point is 100 basis points. Nominal Treasury curves exclude TIPS; 10Y−2Y requires a matching observation date. |
| Ratios | Original observations and dimensional units. No common valuation bands are applied to incompatible ratios. |
Flags and identity
Index flags describe the registered benchmark country or area. Equity flags describe the listing venue, not inferred company domicile. Currency flags describe issuers or monetary areas; EUR uses a European union reference. Global assets and multinational currencies do not receive invented country flags. Local SVG artwork uses flag-icons 7.5.0, MIT licence.
Duplicate aliases for one benchmark are consolidated. The Canadian source is S&P/TSX Composite, the Chinese 000016.SS series is SSE 50, and ^VIX is US volatility. The current CME lumber binding is LBR=F. An unverified name-only fallback cannot become a newly verified symbol.
Official reference currencies
ECB information is available free of charge from the European Central Bank. ECB source terms apply. Watchtower cross-rates and percentage changes are derived calculations, not rates published as such by the ECB.
The reviewed 90-day source supplied 30 currencies including EUR. For a chosen base, cross-rate = quote-per-EUR ÷ base-per-EUR on the same published fixing date. Changes use the previous common fixing. Reference dates are retained; no precise publication timestamp is invented. These are reference fixings, not executable transaction quotes. Coverage follows the source and can change.
Exact index supplements and remaining gaps
Qualified TradingView records can fill otherwise unavailable SET, PSEi, Tadawul All Share and DFM General benchmark observations. Native identifiers, instrument type, currency convention and timestamps are checked. Scanner time describes a daily bar, not a last-trade or publication timestamp; observations may be delayed. Only a source level and one-day change are supplied. Longer missing performance windows stay unavailable. No qualified exact Chile S&P IPSA supplement was returned during review.
Source age and descriptive screens
Observation/fixing time is separate from collection time. Missing, future, unverified and stale states remain explicit. Stale or undated inputs do not qualify for rising/falling rankings or regional tone. Current screens use source observations no more than seven days old, with retained/error flags also disqualifying. This supports differing holidays and sessions; it does not certify intraday freshness.
ECB values are withheld when the fixing is older than seven days, capture older than 48 hours or source access has failed/paused. Index supplementation requires a capture within 20 minutes and an observation within seven days. Persistent permission and rate-limit controls govern scheduled collection; viewing a panel does not bypass them.
Regional market tone is an authored descriptive screen: clamp(50 + 12 × mean qualified one-day index percentage change, 0, 100). Missing inputs are excluded with the denominator shown. It is not a fear/greed probability, calibrated forecast, or independent confirmation across correlated benchmarks.
Evidence and replay
Use the information button for normalized evidence and original source fields, CSV for the displayed selection, and the bottom Raw data & source evidence disclosure for coverage details. Existing chart/fullscreen controls remain available. Recorded replay uses the captured reference payload; a missing historical source is not filled with live data.
