Economic Calendar: sources and methods

The calendar combines source-listed economic releases, official publication schedules, central-bank meetings and sovereign auction announcements. Calendar entries are bounded source records, not an exhaustive census of all global releases.

What the numbers mean

Dates and timezones

Only explicit UTC/offset timestamps or declared IANA timezone dates are converted into the selected display timezone. Floating source clocks remain labelled unverified. Date-only schedules do not become midnight releases. Daylight-saving gaps and ambiguous local times are withheld rather than guessed.

Reference periods, planned release dates, publisher timestamps, retrieval and archive capture are distinct. A passed schedule does not prove that a value has been released. Meeting conclusions, minutes, press conferences, bid deadlines, issue dates and maturity dates are separate events or attributes.

Priority and filtering

Publisher importance is retained where supplied. Otherwise, WT priority is a disclosed event-family classification: major inflation, national activity/labour and monetary-policy releases receive higher reading priority. It is not a forecast of price movement, volatility or probability. All source ratings and derived priorities retain their basis.

Connected schedules

Publisher / feedScope and qualifications
Existing TradingEconomics calendar integrationProvider actual/forecast/previous strings and returned country/date window. Timezones and absent source importance are not inferred. Retained rows remain marked when refresh is unavailable.
US Bureau of Economic AnalysisICS and machine-readable release-family schedules. GDP, income/PCE, trade and related accounts; schedule-only entries do not imply actual values.
Federal ReservePublished FOMC meeting ranges and source-listed minutes dates. No fixed meeting completion time or unlisted future minutes date is manufactured.
European Central BankMonetary/non-monetary meetings, meeting days and separately listed press conferences retain their distinctions.
Bank of EnglandPublished Bank Rate/MPC minutes and Monetary Policy Report dates; a current rate displayed elsewhere is not a future meeting's result.
Bank of CanadaFixed-announcement dates and listed reports. Current policy-rate observations remain separate.
Bank of JapanMeeting conclusions, Outlook, Summary of Opinions and minutes. Source year rollovers and raw publication clocks are retained.
UK Office for National StatisticsEconomic/demographic titles from the upcoming ICS export. The export window can be narrower than the full website listing.
Statistics CanadaMajor economic release-date list. Midnight sequence timestamps are ordering anchors, not release instants.
US Census BureauPublished current/forward economic indicator schedules and reference periods; hidden table sort tokens are excluded.
Australian Bureau of StatisticsCurrent and two linked future months; economic/labour/industry releases and explicit UTC time attributes.
Stats NZPublisher upcoming ICS window, with economic/demographic titles selected.
US TreasuryDirectReturned auction-announcement window. Competitive bidding deadlines are not result-publication times. Coupon, high yield, discount rate and investment rate remain distinct.

Coverage and source state

The in-app Sources panel lists each connected feed, its retained date span, last retrieval and gaps. Spans do not imply complete coverage between dates. Reference-directory links are not counted as ingested feeds. BLS and RBA direct-calendar discovery returned access errors during this release and remain explicit gaps; corresponding entries may still appear through the existing provider feed.

Refreshes use bounded source-specific schedules and last-good storage. Rate and permission responses are respected. Reading the dataset does not force upstream collection. Calendar metadata and provider actuals may update on different schedules.

History and exports

History retains actual captured normalized versions for up to 366 days and begins with collection. It does not reconstruct unavailable historical values or establish that a captured change was an official revision. Native source IDs remain separate; statistical bundles and their component series are not automatically collapsed into one observation.

CSV and JSON preserve raw values and source attribution. ICS uses verified instants where available and date-only entries for unverified clocks. Undated/cancelled rows are omitted from ICS with a reported count. Local watchlists and preferences are scoped to the verified account in that browser and are excluded from the public dataset.
