Explore published camera points and community webcam links, search populated places, and save live viewing walls in your browser.
Official adapters preserve provider-reported camera coordinates. OpenStreetMap points are community-mapped discovery locations, not independently verified camera positions. Directory homepages are not fabricated camera points. Several presets can share one physical station. Counts are source records, not unique camera hardware or universal coverage.
City searches use GeoNames populated-place centres and a great-circle radius. This is not a municipal boundary. Country labels inferred from Natural Earth 1:50m polygons are approximate near borders and coastlines. Missing coverage is not evidence that an area has no cameras.
Periodic JPEG images, HLS streams, video clips, YouTube players and provider-page-only links are distinguished. A successful image load does not prove the frame was captured just now. Frame timestamps, provider metadata timestamps and catalogue retrieval times remain separate; unknown clocks stay unknown.
Start individual tiles or a 1/4/9/16 wall. Viewing stops when the camera workspace is hidden, replay begins or the account changes. Returning to the workspace requires starting playback again. Provider CORS, browser codecs, embedding restrictions and offline cameras can prevent playback. Source links remain available. Custom feeds must be public HTTPS media or supported YouTube links; RTSP and credential-bearing URLs are not supported.
Media is fetched directly by your browser after you start viewing. Providers receive the network requests. There is no Watchtower media proxy, restream service or footage recorder. Saved walls, favorites and custom URLs are stored locally per account and can be exported/imported; clearing browser storage removes them.
TfL registration and California/Queensland camera-image conditions remain unconfirmed for this release, so those new connections remain inactive. Norway's camera API requires further pagination/axis review. The source panel reports connection gaps rather than claiming global live availability.
Public catalogue GET requests do not force upstream requests. Singapore is checked no more often than every five minutes; Hong Kong daily; Finnish station metadata twice daily; OSM discovery weekly. A failed provider response retains the previous observations and their original dates. Permission failures pause collection; rate-limit responses apply backoff. Only reviewed public endpoints are collected. Custom wall URLs are never submitted to the collector.
The API supports paginated records, filtered map points, source state, location search and the OSM export. Catalogue snapshot identifiers detect changes during pagination. Map clustering and paginated lists limit browser work. Country/area lists describe actual catalogue labels, while the gazetteer has broader location-search coverage.
