Bank CDS: published five-year premiums

Open Bank Run Monitor → Bank CDS. Compact references also appear in Bank Run Monitor’s Overview and model-bank section, and in Financial Stress → Banks & positioning.

This view addresses market-based bank credit-risk pricing. A CDS premium is not an agency credit rating, a bank-run probability, a deposit guarantee or an executable trading quote. No AAA/BBB grade or probability of default is inferred.

Source and coverage

The source is the German Association for Structured Securities (BSW) published CDS table. Its data credit is CMA, part of Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. © 2025 Credit Market Analysis Limited. All rights reserved. Watchtower presents a bounded selection of factual banking-issuer references, with dates and original-source links. No open-data licence or licensed trading-feed entitlement is asserted; original publisher/data-owner terms apply.

The reviewed list contains 16 selected banking issuers: BBVA, Barclays PLC, BNP Paribas, Citigroup Inc., DekaBank, Deutsche Bank, DZ Bank, Goldman Sachs Group, HSBC Holdings, JPMorgan Chase & Co., LBBW, Morgan Stanley, Société Générale, UBS Group, UniCredit and Vontobel. At the 17 October 2026 audit, 15 premiums were reported for 15 October 2026; Vontobel had an explicit unavailable entry. This is not an all-bank or all-contract inventory. Source coverage and dates can change.

Issuer names and publisher record IDs are checked together. Sovereigns and nonfinancial companies from the wider publisher table are excluded. A missing or invalid observation is never converted to zero. A genuine published zero remains zero.

What the fields mean

FieldInterpretation
5Y CDS premiumThe publisher describes five-year CDS based on issuers’ corporate bonds. Values are basis points; 100 bps equals 1 percentage point. This does not identify a trade’s actual coupon, upfront payment or executable bid/ask.
Reference entityThe publisher’s named company. Holding companies, operating banks, subsidiaries and individual securities issuers are not interchangeable.
Reference dateThe source’s reporting date. Its midnight-formatted field does not establish a midnight trade or a timezone. Retrieval/check time is shown separately.
Currency / seniority / restructuringNot supplied by this source. They remain unknown; no USD, senior-unsecured or restructuring convention is assumed.
CoveragePublished reference, retained/stale, unavailable or unqualified. None of these is a statement that an institution is safe or failing.

A higher premium can reflect credit-risk pricing, market liquidity and contract differences. Sorting the displayed values is not a like-for-like contract risk ranking. The panel deliberately supplies no arbitrary “safe/dangerous” bands or default probabilities.

Entity boundaries and explicit gaps

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is not JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A. The Citigroup quote refers to the parent Citigroup Inc.; the publisher distinguishes it from CGMFL and CGMHI, its German-market securities issuers. It is also not a Citibank N.A. quote. Similar holding-company distinctions are shown on other rows. The CDS table is not automatically joined to FDIC certificate records, bank branches or depositor counterparties.

For Vontobel, the publisher reports no CDS because Vontobel Holding AG and its group companies have no outstanding corporate bonds. The unavailable value remains a gap, not 0 bps. If the source changes, the published records and qualifications govern the display.

Freshness and failure behavior

Relationship to banking overview scores

These are supplementary market references. They do not change Watchtower’s existing five-family Bank Run stress model, Banking Systemic score, country/sovereign CDS, corporate proxy models, or their evidence gates. Equity movements, bond yields and sovereign CDS are not used as substitutes for a bank-specific CDS quote.

Live references pause during application replay because this independent source is not part of older captured banking snapshots. Account/access transitions clear the displayed reference/filter state and fence late responses. No customer credentials, portfolios or private reports are used to obtain this published table.

For broader single-name CDS curves, exact contract terms, bid/ask, intraday prices, trading or bulk/history access, use an appropriately entitled provider. A provider link or saved credential alone does not establish data rights or current coverage.
