Look beneath headline economic numbers

Monetary Predictions now includes Real-economy distress, with six domains covering hidden labour pressure, consumption retreat, deferred maintenance, emergency liquidity, small-business survival and housing independence. Each of the 50 field indicators explains its question, numerator, denominator, collection approach and competing explanations. Links connect the observatory with Economic activity, Financial Stress, Stocks and Credit Watch.

The initial public context uses 12 US source series and four derived series from BLS, BEA and Federal Reserve data distributed through FRED. Its exploratory historical percentiles are explained down to their baselines, direction and family weights. They are not recession probabilities and do not substitute for the missing direct field measurements.

Compare retailers without confusing prices with customers

The retail downgrade ladder compares Albertsons, Walmart, Dollar General, Dollar Tree, Costco and Kroger. SEC quarterly revenue evidence and common-date adjusted share-price changes are displayed separately. Safeway is represented through its Albertsons parent, not a standalone stock. These comparisons do not establish customer migration or real consumption.

Daily bounded updates refresh the public context series and provider market-price references. The SEC revenue evidence retains the reviewed 4 November 2026 collection and original filing dates; it is not automatically refreshed by this job. Source failures retain last-good observations with their original dates, and stale or insufficient inputs are withheld from current scoring.

Collect local evidence and explain the lens

A browser-local lab supplies all 50 questionnaires, empty aggregate templates, validated imports and sample/coverage-aware exploratory scoring. The direct 50-indicator index remains unmeasured until actual field observations exist. No customer or worker panel has been invented; no panel inputs are uploaded or persisted by the lab.

Five voluntary-market interpretation panels examine government dependence, refinancing, barriers to entry, ownership differences and capital maintenance. Local calculation worksheets make the assumptions explicit. This interpretive lens does not change the public observations or silently alter score weights.

Recognise power infrastructure at a glance

The Infrastructure map now uses fuel-specific power icons, including solar, wind, hydro, nuclear, gas and other technologies. Country-capacity, operating, proposed and construction controls have recognisable icons, with matching explanations and source-qualified plant details in the existing Selected Feature Inspector. Source status, capacity units and location accuracy remain explicit.
