Open Infrastructure, choose Layers, and look under Energy & water. Country capacity shades national boundaries; operating, proposed and construction plant layers can be enabled separately. The existing Selected Feature Inspector shows country capacity breakdowns, source unit records and cluster details.
Country, year, capacity basis and energy-source filters are available within the native layer picker. The previous floating Power projects control has been replaced by these integrated controls. The Monetary Predictions Power capacity view remains available.
Read the evidence in context
Capacity is reported in MW/GW, not live generation. EIA national annual statistics cover 2020–2024 in the accepted edition; GEM's tracked unit inventory is dated September 2026 and licensed CC BY 4.0. These scopes are separate and should not be added together.
GEM records represent units or phases and retain source status, location accuracy and coverage limitations. Proposed means announced or pre-construction, not operating or guaranteed completion. Aggregation cells represent matching units rather than plant locations. This interface update does not introduce a new source edition or automatic data-refresh schedule.
