Find the right measure

Global Bonds now includes an Offshore Currencies view, also available from Bank Run Monitor’s Eurodollar section. Twelve reported stock measures cover dollar credit outside the United States, euro credit outside the euro area, yen credit outside Japan, and Hong Kong RMB customer deposits and their components. Cards include reporting periods, histories, source links, filtering and JSON exports.

These are distinct published measures, not a complete count of Eurocurrency money. BIS credit covers bank loans and international debt securities to non-bank borrowers outside the currency area. Hong Kong RMB deposits cover Hong Kong only. Native-currency amounts and overlapping totals/components must not be added together.

More derivatives detail

Global Bonds → Derivatives retains its headline notional, gross market value, netted credit exposure, risk-class, clearing and exchange-traded statistics. A new section adds 25 observed BIS series for FX forwards and swaps, currency swaps, options, interest-rate swaps, forward-rate agreements, single- and multi-name CDS, maturity buckets, currency slices and risk-class market values.

Two reviewed CNY-specific derivatives slices remain unavailable. Missing data is not zero. Notional is not money in circulation, market value or loss exposure; FX currency legs and alternate breakdowns overlap. This is expanded public-source coverage, not every dealer book or every derivatives venue.

World debt remains in Global Debt

Global Debt already provides total nonfinancial, government, household and corporate debt counters with country/covered-economy selection. New navigation links connect those counters to offshore currencies, derivatives, leverage and Financial Stress. The BIS covered-economy subtotal excludes financial-sector debt and is not a complete all-sector world census.

New offshore and derivatives counters show dated reported amounts, without invented second-by-second growth. Existing debt-clock extrapolations remain optional and labeled separately.

Source dates and coverage stay visible

Source: Bank for International Settlements and Hong Kong Monetary Authority. Latest qualified reporting periods at release were 2026 Q1 for offshore credit, August 2026 for Hong Kong RMB deposits and the second half of 2025 for the new OTC derivatives slices. Public-source snapshots are refreshed on a bounded daily schedule when requested, with original dates and retained-data indicators preserved.

The reviewed read-only dataset is also discoverable through Watchtower’s professional MCP data catalogue. BIS statistics are included without an additional charge, and source use remains subject to BIS and HKMA terms.
