The longer view of representation
History & trends adds election-by-election charts, source turnout, historical seat-allocation comparisons, cabinet formation timelines and a year-based atlas. Each result retains its source date and institution; partial renewals remain distinct from full-chamber allocations.
Historical sources and current observations
The launch includes 1,281 election-result and reference records across 148 jurisdictions, with source records spanning 1789–2026, plus 1,622 cabinet records. It combines the ParlGov 2024 stable archive, US House historical party divisions, and selected source-reported recent legislative results. Coverage varies substantially by country and period; the earliest records are US congressional reference years. Present-day party ideology is not projected backward into past elections.
A durable archive preserves qualified market references and actual collected structural observations, beginning with retained collection on 9 October 2026. Market histories use dated hourly samples and retain contract-definition distinctions. Polling reference periods remain distinct from publication dates and realized outcomes.
