Ask naturally
You can ask “What is the latest price for Apple?”, “How much are Toyota shares in Japan?”, or “What does one Bitcoin cost in US dollars?” Sentry resolves the instrument behind the scenes; you do not need to know its ticker or a technical command. Start a new Sentry conversation to use the updated tools and instructions.
More requests to try
“How many US dollars is one Canadian dollar worth?”
“Where is Japan’s Nikkei index now?”
“What is the latest price of Vanguard’s Total World Stock ETF?”
“Compare Apple’s and Microsoft’s latest share prices, with their source times.”
“How much are Brent crude futures?”
“What is the price of Mercury?” Sentry asks which asset you mean rather than choosing a company or the metal for you.
Source-aware answers
The new compact read-only MCP tool returns the selected instrument, price, unit, original source date or time, provider and availability state together. FX inversions and same-date reference cross-rates are calculated explicitly. Index values remain index points; futures prices remain distinct from spot prices.
The workflow was checked with automated identity/unit/access tests and real Sentry tool-and-audio sessions, including a currency conversion, an index, an ETF, a stock comparison and ambiguous or unavailable requests.
Coverage and qualifications
Coverage depends on the reviewed public feeds. A latest available reference may be delayed or dated; it is not a guarantee of a live executable quote or coverage of every asset. Sentry reports missing prices and asks for clarification when identity is ambiguous. A spot-gold request is not silently replaced by a gold futures price. Existing access and provider entitlements continue to apply.
Sentry remains an administrator-preview feature. This update improves its price retrieval within the existing access model. The compact price tool is also available to entitled Watchtower MCP clients.
