One familiar map interface
Open Layers to browse a map’s existing display choices and filters through labelled icon tiles. The shared interface supports keyboard navigation, search, source context and fullscreen views.
Stable views, native evidence
Map controls and evidence panels use bounded layouts so changing controls does not push the map around. Native source controllers still determine data availability, selected measures, units, dates, confidence and geometry.
Maps, globes and embedded workspaces
The interface is adapted to 2D maps, globes and Watchtower’s embedded map workspaces. Provider-owned embedded maps receive a consistent Watchtower frame; their internal controls remain with the provider.
Start exploring
Refresh Watchtower, open a map workspace and choose Layers. Search for a layer or switch between the available control groups. Selected choices show checkmarks, while native controls continue to govern the map’s evidence.
Hazard-area colors, quantitative map measures, source dates and existing saved private work retain their original meanings. This is an interface update, not an expansion of source coverage.
